We’ll align your messaging and your target client to a practical structure by asking the question, “How will my online destination represent the best aspects of my brand?” We’ll explore what happens when people arrive at your site: how to provide prospective customers with a welcoming experience, seamlessly deliver the information they need, and inspire them to engage and take action.
We’ll take a step back and review the big picture. At this meeting, you’ll receive a summary of what we’ve learned including messaging, what goes where, a customized plan to bring your brand to life, and an estimate of your total investment. At the end of our process, you’ll have a solid foundation to build your brand upon and a detailed plan. Once we get your project started, we’ll revisit this plan once your site launches.
Here's What You Can Expect After Your Website Launches
Things you shouldn’t have to deal with (a partial list): updating plugins, taking backups of your website, monitoring uptime, keeping up with security issues, setting up new email accounts and dealing with DNS records. We love this stuff. Let us take care of it so you don’t have to.
One of the benefits of getting your website designed by us is that you can depend on us to make any adjustment to your website, including copy, images and entire new pages. Sign up for our webmaster service and get priority service, with most adjustments made within 72 hrs. Want to add a shopping cart to your website? Change the structure of a page? Just reach out and we'll take care of it.
Website Design FAQs
The entire process takes two weeks and our four meetings will be scheduled up front. The first three meetings are a few days apart and then we take a week to put together your deliverables before our fourth meeting.
That being said, we are often booked out a few weeks—and sometimes months—ahead for this service. Want to chat about our web design service? Book your call as soon as you can.
We sure do. We certainly don’t require it (not trying to trap you into a long-term commitment), but 95% of our website clients do want us to take care of their websites. We call it the “you don’t have to worry about it” fee. We will make sure you never have to stress about backups, updates, or hackers. You’ll never have to call a hosting company or deal with any of the annoying technical aspects of a website because we’ll take care of it.
Because we build sites on WordPress and WordPress sites are open source, your website will require upkeep. WordPress websites have plugins that need to be updated and core updates that need to be done. It’s not a massive amount of work to update a single plugin, but when you have 10 - 20 plugins, it does take time, and we update plugins once per week, which is above the industry standard. More importantly, if something goes wrong when a plugin is updated (it doesn’t happen often, but it does happen)…we handle it.
The timeline for our custom websites will depend on the scope, but a typical project takes about 16-18 weeks—with a copywriting/planning phase, a design phase, and then a development phase. The good news? This is not a made-up number. When we give you a timeline, we tend to deliver on it.
Everything required to complete your website can be included in your website buildout. This includes: copywriting, custom design and development of the site (how custom can vary), photography, videography, Google Analytics setup with conversion goals (we’ll explain that but you’ll be so happy), on-page search engine optimization, integration with an email marketing platform (we want you to collect people’s contact information to stay in front of them), tutorial videos and more.
Beyond that, there are a million options: We can build something interactive to build your email list (like a design quiz! or some kind of calculator!), design some other type of lead magnet, set up nurture sequences (emails that automatically go out every few days after someone signs up for your email list), set up automation related to marketing, sales, onboarding, or whatever we dream up with you.
